Accessorize Your Outfit... with Makeup?

Sunday 31 October 2010

Of course, any outfit being put together needs perfect makeup to compliment your style, so I was beyond excitement when I read Hannah's Post about how Accessorize, the jewellery shop which also sells beautiful hats, scarfs, purses etc. had brought out their own makeup range. Now, judging by the beauty of their existing products, I was right to expect exquisite packaging and perfect products, and my theory was proved correct when, after ordering products online (free postage-whoop!),  they arrived in the mail...

I spent £15 on three products... bargain!

With Love California Baked Bronzer
£6.00
On first impressions, this worried me. Its a beautiful bronze but the glitter elements scared me off a bit, however when tested it did not give a glitter ball effect at all and rather gave a beautiful healthy glow.

With Love Merged Pretty Pink Blusher
£5.00
By far the most stunning of the 3 pieces I purchased was this peach blush with veins of purple running through it. Although it is sheer it is perfectly buildable and leaves a gorgeous peachy sheen on the cheeks.

Rock Star High Maintenance Baked Duo
£4.00
I am a little bit in love with this eyeshadow duo. The shimmery cream is perfect highlight or all over lid colour and the bronze/brown- a perfect contour. Love love love!

Here's a few wee swatches for ya...

Left to Right : With Love California Baked Bronzer, With Love Merged Pretty Pink Blusher, Rock Star High Maintenance Baked Duo

Overall I'm extremely impressed with Accessorizes new cosmetics line. Cheap products and beautiful makeup? Yes please.

I purchased these products with my own money and all opinions are my own.

J'adore mes bottes!

Wednesday 27 October 2010

Oh yes ladies, I seem to have come over all français today. Which is really rather inappropriate considering I dropped studying French 2 years ago after studying for 3 years and not knowing one word, and my Spanish GCSE mocks are in 10 weeks! 10 weeks!!!! Arghh, its all coming so fast!

But anywhoo, back to today's post...
I love my booot-iful new winter biker booties! Or as I like to call them- Tramp Boots :)

♥ ♥ ♥

My, ahem, 'artistic' photography ↑↑

They are just sooo pretty and grey and well... just.... so downright perfect!!

And my perfect winter boots only cost £25 from New Look! Wooo whooo!!

No breaking the bank for me today, however it looks like my new obsession with internet shopping is going to cost me a fair few pounds. Uh oh...

Have a good week girls!

Total Lush Virgin!

Saturday 23 October 2010

Many a time over the last few years have I heard the term 'Lush-a-holic' used as part of a blogger's sentence, and every time I heard that phase I wondered just what was the big deal about LUSH?!
My inexperienced brain just couldn't get my head around why people would get excited over shower gel, dizzy over soap and ballistic over bath bombs?

Until now.

Now it seems that every time I read a blog devoted to the legend that is Lush or watch a rave all about the infamous shop, my longing to own one off their elusive products heightens. It was only recently that this Lush-mania came over me, and now it seems that every day I am clicking through their website, sifting through reviews, looking for that perfect Lush product to quench my Lush thirst.

The sad thing is, I have yet to actually try anything.

I know, I know, what an absolute travesty! For months now I have been walking past Lush in my local shopping center, not taking a blind bit of notice, but now it has me drooling at the windows, ready to buy buy buy. But I must restrain myself, there's a recession on you know!

OK, so the recession may be over, but my money worries are far from gone. As we approach Christmas (which is precisely 62 days away, eeek!), I find myself scraping the very last pennies from the bottom of my, to be frank, extremely light purse, just to purchase that perfect winter accessory I want need.

So back to the point, I just can't afford to let myself loose in Lush, however amazing it smells or however luring those multicoloured bath bombs are. I have to restrain myself and wait for Christmas, when I promise myself a treat and a free pass in Lush.

However this self imposed spending ban doesn't count for window shopping right? So here's a few of my most lusted after Lush items...

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Of course, Lush's best selling product although its only on sale for 3 months a year, I have to have this. What can I say? I'm a glitter-fiend!

Lush Twilight Bath Ballistic

Anything with the name twilight I am almost certain to love.

Lush Fresh Farmacy

Spots be gone (hopefully) with this gorgeous cleanser!

Lush Charlotte Island Body Tint

Because in winter we all need a bit of a glow!

Comforter Bubble Bar

...and we all need a little extra comfort during those winter months :)

Do any of you lovely ladies have any lush-tastic recommendations for me when I finally make my first order?!?

Make A Wave

Sunday 17 October 2010

My hairs been a bit on the 'blahh' side lately as you all know, so I thought it was about time I tried some new styles to mix it up a bit.

So, looking through my small collection of hair stylers, I came across these...

Andrew Barton Making Waves Salon Triple Barrel Waver

Although it may look a little too similar to a torture implement, these, ahem... interesting looking tongs are designed to create smooth, wavy waves for your hair in just seconds. With 10 temperature settings, these tongs should be the perfect tool to create salon perfect waves, ready for a night out.

After getting these for Christmas, I confess I have only used these tongs a total of 2 times, shock horror, and I had completely forgotten what the effect was.

So, being the the investigator that I am, I cracked them out and got waving...

I got a little a lot snap happy as you can see...

So girls, what do you think of this new do'?

I'm not too sure on it myself, not sure whether the waves suit me, so I'm thinking of maybe selling the tongs, what do you think?

Have a good week lovelies!

Feature-ama!

If you want to check out the interview to get to know me a little better go here, and make sure to check out Lisa's blog, its just lovely!

Lets Get Elf-ie

Wednesday 13 October 2010

As you can see from my many, many ELF product hauls and posts I'm a bit of an ELF addict, and of course, today is no different. I've got a little haul for you, which is by no means as mahooosive as my previous hauls, as it only dented my bank balance by £8, hurrahhh!

The main reason for my order was to get a new Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter from the studio range as I've just run out of my old one, and realised I just couldn't live without it.

Of course, while ordering this I had a great excuse to pick up a few bits I'd been lusting after for a while...

ELF Shadow Brush (£1.50)
This little beauty has been recommended to me many a time and I have to say it really is a lovely brush for its tiny price tag. Although some of the bristles are slightly harsh, there is little to no fallout and it is perfect for packing on colour or even to blend it out! Definitely a fantastically cheap buy with good results- go for it!

ELF Lipstick in Classy (£1.50)
To tell the truth, I'm not exactly 'keen' on this lipstick. The formula is a bit mehh, and does not compare to ELF's range of beautiful mineral lipsticks, of which I own 3. The colour just isn't me, a bright blue toned pink, not quite as barbie pink as it appears in the picture. It just doesn't suit my yellow toned skin and almost looks a little like 'granny' lipstick to me, i.e. settles into lines and dries out your lips. Not a winner for me I'm afraid, but hey, for £1.50 who can complain!?

ELF Individual Lash Kit (£1.50)
I haven't had a chance to get to grips with these yet, but I brought them as it seems I am a false lash virgin! I'm waiting for a special occasion to whip these out and get fluttery lashes and I can't wait!

And while I'm at it, here's a few tings I picked up from Avon in an effort to heal my poor damaged hair...

Bodifying Foam (£2.50 on sale)
Not impressed with this one. I find it makes my hair a little sticky and crunchy and not particularly volumised as it claims. However, I have not used this product enough to totally disregard it.

Dry Ends Serum (£2.50 on sale)
This lovely serum makes my hair look shiny and soft when applied to the ends, but beware of putting it too close to the roots, looking like you plunged your head into grease is never a good look!

Reconstructive Mask (£3.00 on sale)
This reconstructive mask can just be viewed really as a thick conditioner, but it does make my hair noticeably softer and a little shinier when using it. However I used this product the week after I had tried my Tresemme Deep Conditioner, and this product really is disappointing after you have used that. If you would be interested in a full comparison of these two conditioners pop in a comment down below... :)

That's it for my hauling lately! Have a good week girlie's!

The Oh So Versitile ELF Warm Bronzer

Sunday 10 October 2010

Over the last few months while my makeup addiction has really been taking off, I have been searching for the perfect all over face bronzer. Naturally, I have extremely pale, freckly skin, so I'm always on the hunt for something to make it look a little more healthy and glowey, without giving me that 'dirty' look that I'm sure we all crave! ;)

When I first discovered ELF Cosmetics I was astounded at their low low price tags which were perfectly priced for my frankly very low budget. Never in this world did I expect any of the oh-so cheap cosmetics to really impress me and make me want more.

That's just were I was wrong.

While many of the products I have ordered from ELF have impressed me, none so have made me fall in love with them quite as much as the Warm Bronzer from the Studio Line...

As you can see, mine is more than dented due to religious everyday use, this has become my favourite bronzer of all time. Word.

It has 4 square colours, which when swirled together (using my ELF Complexion Brush, of course ;) create the perfect bronze colour for your skin tone. It has a slight shimmer, which, rather than making me look a little Edward Cullen-ish, has the perfect effect of making you look radiant and healthy, with the tiny shimmers only visible in direct sunlight.

You can also take each colour individually, using them as a contour, highlight or blush, which makes this the perfect handbag essential, with the added bonus of a huge mirror.

Here's a few before and afters for y'all, just so you can see the magic yourself...
(Also wearing Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, ELF Cream Liner and Vaseline Rosy Lips)

Before
After
Eeeekkk, ignore the spots, having a bad skin day!

OK so the 'magic' doesn't show that great in the piccies, but trust me, I wouldn't lie to you, my lovely followers!

Another added bonus of this little palette is that you can even use it for eye colours, sweeping the pale yellow all over the lid and the darker browns in the crease...

Just £3.50 and you can get 3 looks out of it? Yes please :)

Does anyone else own this little beauty, and if so, what do you think of it?

*This product was bought with my own money and all opinions are my own!*

Get Your Groove On

Wednesday 6 October 2010

I was off out grooving last Friday night (well, at my friend's birthday part-eee ;) and thought I'd share with you beautiful people my little outfit...

I know, I know, ruu-bish picture and eeeek, you can see the top of my tights, but it was a long night you know! Sorry for the terrible picture, but silly old me was in such a rush while getting ready I forgot to take a pic myself! *Slaps hand*

I am wearing my lovely new dress from New Look (£7!!) and my Primark Spotty Tights. Absolutely bargainous outfit at just £9.50. Although not shown in the picture, I'm also wearing brown ankle boots from (the amazing) Primark!

Here's an even more unhelpfuller(?) picture of my makeup:

Sorry these snaps are a little weird, I had to crop my friends out for fear they would pummel me to death for using their pictures without permission.

Now, Whats on my sweaty, 'i've just been dancing the night away face' you ask?...

Avon Magic X Primer
ELF Undereye Concealer and Highlighter
Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer (because a lovely little red friend decided to pop up on my face!)
Avon Creme to Powder Foundation
ELF Warm Bronzer
ELF Mineral Blush in Rose
MeMeMe Beat The Blue Highlighter in Sunbeam

ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
ELF Cream Liner in Black (As a base)
Barry M Mushroom Dazzle Dust (Used wet all over lid)
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow in Socialite (Outer corner, crease and under eye)

Mac Lipstick in Hue

Looks like soon I'll be turning into an Elf with all the products I use!

That's all for now sweet cheeks!

Winter Wishlist...

Sunday 3 October 2010

Hey Dolls!
Ohh, it is getting seriously chilly over here in the UK *shivers*. I keep having to resort to wearing a scarf everywhere I go, shock horror!

But now winter is drawing in, the only upside of the cold weather is the whole new wardrobe which comes creeping along with it!

Its just a shame my depleting levels of pennies can't quite stretch out enough to get these little jems into my wardrobe. But hey ho, nothing wrong with a little window shopping, here's what I'm lusting after for the impending cold months ahead...

H&M
Aviator Jacket
Why are you never in stock?!?

New Look
Furry Cuff Ankle Boot
