How amazingly perfect, beautiful, amazing, magnificent, breathtaking... ahuvufjhoi are these!!? I still cant quite get over the gold packaging, they are literally the Queens of the lipstick world in my eyes.

You may have seen my earlier post, a good few months ago when I got my very first YSL lipstick (a momentous moment in any make-up addict's life I'm sure!) and now I have three! Three absolute favourites in my lipstick collection!

I must say, these lipsticks are the creamiest, most pigmented, easy to put on lip products I have experienced in my 17 years, and are an absolute delight to wear! The only downfalls to these are that they don't wear off as well as I would have hoped; there can be a little settling into lip lines if you're not careful.

But otherwise, a definite, massive recommendation if you haven't tried them! And if you have, what are your favourite shades, I definitely need more of these in my life!

'appy burfday!

Today, the 15th April 2012, is exactly two years since Beautylishious was born! I feel slightly like a proud mother at this point and I'm a tad flabbergasted I even got to this point. It baffles me that two years ago I didn't even have this little space on the Internet that’s mine and mine alone to ramble and blog my beauty-obsessed heart out.

And to top it all off; I just reached 1000 followers- wahwhooooo! Best blogiversary EVVERRRR!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all 1004 of you! I am thankful for each and every one of you, and while it completely baffles me that any sane human being would want to read my ramblings, thank you for being there, commenting and just generally being awesome!

Just wanted to say how glad I am that I did join the blogging community many moons ago! I have made so many lovely little ‘bloggie’ friends, found some absolutely amazing blogs and found a place to vent my makeup obsession- its really a win-win!

So I shall stop being all sentimental and emosh, but I hope for many more years on the blogosphere!

a model collection.

Models Own makeup has never really been a ‘must have’ in my books, and as the Boots store I work in doesn't actually stock the brand (sob sob!) I don't come into contact with the brand much! So on a little trip into my local town it was a shock discovering how astonishingly perfect their nail polish colours were! On various trips to scout out more colours I have accumulated quite a collection…

 Lemon Meringue, Utopia, Misty Grey, Champagne, Blooboo, Aqua Violet

The thing I adore most about the polishes is not the shade range – although it is pretty amazing for a high street brand!- but its the opacity of the polishes. Even the pale colours are perfectly opaque in 2 coats, sometimes even one, and the formulas seem to last amazingly well on the nails. My absolute favourite at the moment is Blooboo, there's just something about ‘blue tac’ nails for spring that really does it for me!

I am a little bit in love with Models Own at the minute and am definitely considering expanding my collection, what are your favourite shades from their collection?

My brush roll is an object very close to my heart. I am forever rearranging, shuffling and substituting brushes in and out according to my changing needs, and at the moment I am content with all my little brushes lined up in order of use.

As you can see, my preferred brush brand is ELF, who offer extremely affordable but good quality brushes which are easy to get a hold of. Although I do find after multiple washes the Studio range (black handles) tend to become wobbly, its nothing a bit of duct tape cant fix and otherwise I cant fault their lovely soft bristles! Another of my favourites are from a random old set of Argos brushes I received many years ago when my makeup obsession was just rearing its head, but those brushes have lasted all this times- now that's a sign of a good brush!

I am hoping to invest in a few more of the Real Techniques brushes soon and I'm thinking about getting the Core Collection next, as the blush brush I recently purchased is now a must have in my collection!

Obviously I don't have a need for each and every one of these brushes in my everyday makeup routine, but its always nice to have a few extra lying around in case some emergency blending/makeup recovery is needed!

harry potter studio tour!

My apologies for the extremely picture heavy post!

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to be able to get free tickets to the brand new Harry Potter Studio Tour, which has opened up near-ish to wear I live (its close to London). 

I have to say it is literally the coolest place on earth for a massive Harry Potter geek like me- yes I cried at the last Harry Potter film, it was just so emosh! After the final film coming out and the magic seeming to end, this brand new museum/tour is the closest thing there is to the magical world of Hogwarts, except the theme park in America, which I am determined to visit one day!

I don't want to spoil the actual tour too much for any of you keen people like me who are going, but lets just say there are lots of lovely surprises! From drinking butter beer to meeting dobby the house elf, every little detail was covered and it was fascinating seeing the ins and outs of the filming and behind the scenes sets. The workers there were lovely (one of my best friends actually works there, lucky thing!) and they were so clued up on Harry Potter inside information they should have been in the movies themselves!

The best part by far was a magnificent structure of Hogwarts which changed from day to night every 4 minutes; it was ridiculously huge and ridiculously beautiful- I want to go to Hogwarts! And I even discovered a table with all the makeup they used on set... lets just say I hung around there quite a bit!

Overall it was a fantastic experience and apart from the overpriced gift shop and wanting it never to end, there's really nothing I can fault with it! If you get the chance to go - go!

There are many instances in a woman’s life where she is tempted to go organic. The local farmers market is full of organic fruits and vegetables and local supermarkets are increasing their supply of organic produce and other products for the public. Organic items, as a whole, are much better for women than products and foods that are not created organically. Buying organic is a nationwide epidemic that is a good one to have. Aside from food, there are several different products on the market that are created organically, including makeup, which is always a feel good tool for women. 

Women that are facing a rare form of cancer, such as mesothelioma cancer are likely in need of a feel good tool, which is where organic makeup comes in handy. The thought of going through cancer treatments is one that is intimidating and scary to many women; it is also something that can quickly remove a woman’s sense of confidence and power, leaving her feeling exposed and out of control. Something that is of crucial importance for women that are suffering from cancer is that they feel good about themselves. Feeling good is a way to improve the quality of their life, which is something they must do to improve their mood and increase their positive reaction to their cancer treatments. 

One way that never fails to make a woman feel more confident and beautiful is to put on makeup and make an effort to be the fabulous woman she was before she was diagnosed with cancer. Organic makeup is something that can make women feel even better about themselves because it is better for their skin, better for the environment and it is all around healthier and safer. Not only will wearing organic makeup make them look and feel more gorgeous, beautiful and confident, it will make them feel better as a person because they are doing something good for the environment by going organic. 

Additionally, another benefit of organic makeup is that it is good for a woman’s skin. Using organic makeup means not using harsh chemicals and additives on a woman’s skin, which means her skin will be healthier, more natural and more gorgeous as a result of the makeup she chooses to wear. There is no downfall to switching makeup brands and going organic.

There is nothing that makes a woman feel more powerful and strong than the way she looks. While it is no secret that cancer can make a woman feel badly, she doesn’t have to look bad. She can regain her confidence and her strong persona by using organic makeup to make herself feel better. Feeling better is a great way to beat cancer.

the tiny skulls.

I bought these beautiful gold and silver bracelets a couple of weeks ago from Etsy, a recent website discovery of mine- it sells stunning handmade and vintage items at low prices.

These dainty little bracelets were actually bought after I fell completely in love with this bracelet by Iwona Ludyga, which has been making the rounds on tumblr lately, but with the £200 price tag, I was on hunt for something a little more inexpensive.

After a major google search, desperately trying to find a dupable piece, I discovered the above bracelets for just £9.71 each here and promptly fell in love, enough even to order both colours of the bracelet to share with my sister. They arrived in about a week (from Korea!) in a beautiful hand made box and the seller even threw in a free pair of pearl earrings- perfect!

I am completely obsessed with the dainty, subtle skulls and I have literally not removed the silver version from my arm since receiving them! I will definitely be ordering a whole lot more from Etsy in the near future!
